Autonomous Government and more than 189 million earmarked to support the production of greenhouse tomato.
The Government and the autonomous communities of Murcia, Andalucia, Valencia and Canary 189.2 million euros earmarked for a program of support for greenhouse tomato production, where the Ministry of the Environment and Rural and Marine to make a contribution 94.6 million euros.
In a statement, the department heads Elena Espinosa indicated that the aim of this support is to improve, aion kinah, the competitiveness of the sector to adapt to new conditions of supply and demand "more and more demanding by the entry of products from third countries" and thus, strengthen the "high levels of employment generated in these farms.
"These farms contribute a prominently to the economy of the areas in which they are located by high, mortal gold, levels of employment generated and by its clear vocation for export, the Ministry argument.
In particular, the contribution ministerial, 60.5 million euros was earmarked to improve facilities in Andalusia, 19.2 million to the Region of Murcia, to 10.4 million and 4.5 million canary productions to the Community Valenciana.
The aid shall be granted to activities associated with the modernization and improvement, cheap kinah, of energy efficiency of greenhouse tomato production, and the application deadline be extended until December 31, 2013.
The implementation of these measures entail that the maximum rate of investment will subsidize 40 percent with the exception of the Canary Islands, which may reach 75 percent.
The aid is specifically addressed to the greenhouse tomato sector, and consequently the recipients must demonstrate that over 70 percent of its production in greenhouses for the last three years is of this product.
Also, the autonomous communities concerned must henceforth proceed to the modification of their rural development programs to include the new sub-measure, and therefore in funding for and the requirements for the measure in question.
