Very influenced by the psychedelic madness of the 1970s, the feature of Eddy Paape abandons a certain naivety on behalf of a driven realism and color baroque. Who said “Screaming Metal” had always had the monopoly of the SF colorful?
The series “Luc Orient” returns to its roots by “flash-gordonniennes. After a number of episodes occurring on Earth, the three heroes return to the area to live psychedelic adventures totally in line with the Science Fiction of the Seventies. For this, the designer Eddy Paape has radically upgraded its line, further accentuating the realistic characters, evacuating definitely influence of Alex Raymond.
The colors, which are obviously considered through the prism of time, al-laient further in this direction. This has led some critics to speak then of a total rupture. This would forget rather quickly that the fundamental thinking that was the singularity of the series has not gone away. Greg writer, never forget to think about his characters aloud, or give them a message. Hence a certain density since disappeared from the landscape of the 9th Art … (re) discover in this penultimate volume of the “Ultimate”.
This Volume 4 includes the following titles: “The Anvil of the Lightning,” “The Shore of Fury”, “Roubak the ultimate Hope” and “Caragal. It is supplemented by an illustrated record of 6 pages. Ultimate scheduled for 5 volumes.

Luke East and his friends face strange robots hiding the dark designs of a mad scientist, then unravel the mystery of a painting that crazy or even travel in the past to resolve an investigation of nine years old.
What does not the hero and Greg Paape always be ahead of our time! It started in 1967 by a simple need to fill an empty space - that of science fiction - in the planning of “Tintin”. But twenty-one years later, and Greg Paape had not yet finished with the hero to the false airs of “Flash Gordon”.
Wearing all the themes of anticipation, travel in space to faults temporally, Greg always signed scenarios whose conclusion defused in a delicate context a little too prepared for an author so creative. Here, it is primarily Eddy Paape coward who took advantage of its kind to try new experiments graphics, more psychedelic than ever. An exception in the designer’s career!
